When I sat down to record this video, I knew the title would do a lot of work for me. "Every. Single. Time." with that skeptical emoji — it captures the exhaustion and dark amusement many of us feel when yet another entertainment industry story, followed carefully enough, seems to bend back toward the same small cluster of names, the same networks of power, and yes, the same files. In this piece, I want to walk through what I argued, why I argued it, and what I think it means for how we understand the relationship between entertainment, money, and geopolitics.
My core claim was simple, if provocative: entertainment is not separate from politics. The public tends to imagine the music industry, sports ownership, and international diplomacy as distinct spheres — celebrities make art, billionaires own teams, politicians run countries. But when you trace the actual relationships, the boundaries dissolve. I used the recent controversy around Ed Sheeran and the sidelining of Macklemore from a tour as my entry point, arguing that what looks like a "purely entertainment decision" is in fact embedded in a web connecting Robert Kraft, Casey Wasserman, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Jeffrey Epstein network.
The subtitle of the argument — the thing the title gestures at — is that, in my view, an alarming number of these threads lead back to Epstein's files and to a particular small country in the Middle East. I said it with a wink, but I meant it as a serious analytical claim: the same social circles, the same patronage networks, the same mutual obligations keep recurring.
I built the case in two halves.
The Kraft thread. Ed Sheeran is, by his own description, close friends with Robert Kraft — he sang at Kraft's wedding and called him "such a sweet guy." I pushed back on that characterization deliberately. Kraft, the billionaire owner of the Patriots, was charged with soliciting prostitution in 2019, and the charges were mysteriously dropped about a year later. Here's the detail I found most striking: according to documents surfaced in the Epstein files, it was Epstein's own lawyer who got Kraft off. That's not a conspiracy theory; that's a documented connection between two men's legal fates. I also referenced an image allegedly sent to me from inside Kraft's home — a painting depicting what appears to be a childlike nude figure — which I presented with appropriate hedging ("on the face of it," "allegedly") but which fits the broader pattern I was tracing. And Kraft's decades-long personal friendship with Netanyahu anchors the Israeli dimension of the story.
The Wasserman thread. Ed Sheeran's manager, Casey Wasserman, is the other half of the equation. Wasserman isn't just a music manager — he founded the Wasserman sports and entertainment empire and chairs the LA 2028 Olympics organizing committee. In September 2002, he and his then-wife joined Epstein's humanitarian trip to Africa on Epstein's private plane, alongside Bill Clinton, Kevin Spacey, and Ghislaine Maxwell. Afterward, he exchanged flirtatious emails with Maxwell, including one asking what he'd have to do to see her "in a tight leather skirt." Again — these are from the released documents, not speculation. And like others in what I called "the Epstein class," Wasserman has close ties to Israel, having met Netanyahu last year and told him: "Your leadership over the past two years makes me proud to be a Jew."
That quote was the emotional center of my video. I let it sit and then said what needed saying: during the most devastating phase of Israel's assault on Gaza, this is the moment Wasserman felt proudest of his identity. I called that insane, and I stand by that framing.
I structured the argument as a connect-the-dots exercise, deliberately. Start with a pop-culture event (Macklemore's exclusion — itself politically charged, given Macklemore's vocal anti-war stance). Trace it to Sheeran. Trace Sheeran to Kraft (friendship) and to Wasserman (management). Trace Kraft to Epstein (shared lawyer) and to Netanyahu (personal friendship). Trace Wasserman to Epstein (the 2002 flight, the Maxwell emails) and to Netanyahu (the praise, the relationship). Then close the loop: the "entertainment decision" at the center of it all now looks like the output of a network in which Epstein-linked figures and a state accused of genocide are mutually entangled. Each link is individually documented; the argument's force comes from their convergence.
I tried to be careful in a few places. I repeatedly used "allegedly" when discussing the painting from Kraft's home, because that's an unverified source and I won't pretend otherwise. I also anticipated the most common rebuttal — that these are just coincidental social connections, that powerful people know each other, and that guilt by association proves nothing. My implicit answer throughout was: one connection is an anecdote; a pattern is a structure. When the same names recur across prostitution cases, trafficking networks, and geopolitical patronage, the burden of explanation shifts. "Coincidence" starts to look like the less parsimonious theory.
I'll concede here what I hedged in the video: proximity is not complicity. Wasserman's emails are grotesque but don't prove he participated in trafficking. Kraft's dropped charges don't prove Epstein's lawyer traded favors. What they do prove is a culture of mutual protection at the top — and that's damning enough.
The larger point is about how power actually operates. Epstein wasn't just a predator; he was a node — connecting finance, intelligence, politics, and entertainment. If that's right, then the "Epstein class" never dissolved when he died. Its members still run Olympics committees, own football teams, manage the world's biggest pop stars, and publicly celebrate a government waging a devastating war. The Macklemore episode matters because it suggests this network can reach into something as seemingly trivial as a tour lineup — which means it can reach into everything.
I ended the video the way I want to end this reflection: not with a neat resolution, but with a challenge. The next time a "purely entertainment" story breaks, ask who benefits, who's connected to whom, and which files keep getting invoked and then buried. Follow the threads yourself. Every. Single. Time — see where they lead. If my argument is wrong, the connections will stop repeating. I don't think they will.
